Review | Gamesir | G8 vs G8 PLUS vs X5 LITE

Here's what someone in the community asked: I kinda want to return my g8 and buy this one(x5 lite) instead just because I can fit my phone with its case on thanks to the adjustable rubbers near the port. Do you think thats a good idea? I mostly use for emulation.

TL;DR
Competitive/Pro Gamers: G8 PLUS (Bluetooth + Switch support) or G8 (wired audio/charging).
Casual/Portable Gamers: X5 LITE (lightweight + case-friendly).
Let’s start with the most important question: which platforms these three controllers support.
Gaming & Platform Compatibility
The G8 and X5 LITE use USB-C connectivity, meaning they’re compatible with iPhone 16/15 series, Android devices, and PC gaming via Moonlight streaming.
The G8 PLUS, however, uses Bluetooth, so it supports all the above platforms plus Nintendo Switch.
Build & Specs
Here’s a breakdown of their core features:
1. Weight & Size
The G8 and G8 PLUS share the same weight and dimensions, designed for a premium, full-sized grip. The X5 LITE, on the other hand, is a lightweight, compact option better suited for smaller hands or casual use.
In short: The G8 and G8 PLUS cater to competitive or pro gamers, while the X5 LITE is ideal for casual or exploration-focused gameplay.
2. Wired Charging
Both the G8 and X5 LITE support simultaneous charging and gameplay via their USB-C ports.
The G8 PLUS lacks this feature. If you’re a marathon gamer, you’ll need to ensure both your phone and controller are fully charged before playing (the controller’s battery level is visible in the GAMESIR app during G-TOUCH mode).
For short gaming sessions, all three perform similarly.
3. Headphone Jack
Here’s the oddity: While the G8 and X5 LITE both support wired charging, only the G8 has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The X5 LITE and G8 PLUS rely on your phone’s speakers for audio—a dealbreaker if you hate disturbing others.
4. Phone Case Compatibility
The X5 LITE offers ample space for phones with cases, but the G8 PLUS goes even further thanks to its Bluetooth design (no physical port constraints). Both outshine the G8 in this category.
5. Haptic Feedback & Screenshot Function
The X5 LITE lacks the advanced vibration motors found in the G8 and G8 PLUS.
Bonus tip for X5 LITE users: Double-tapping the M-button captures screenshots, a feature oddly missing from its English manual.
Personal Recommendation
My pick? The G8 PLUS (though I own both the G8 PLUS and X5 LITE).
If you prefer the G8’s heft and size, the X5 LITE’s lightweight design might feel underwhelming. While the X5 LITE allows charging during gameplay, its lack of a headphone jack puts it on par with the G8 PLUS for audio limitations.
The G8 PLUS is perfect if you want Bluetooth flexibility without sacrificing pro-tier performance. I use mine daily for League of Legends: Wild Rift, Call of Duty Mobile, and even Apex Legends via Moonlight streaming (near-zero latency—though avoid Steam Link for PC gaming, as its delay is noticeable).
That said, the X5 LITE shines for casual or exploration games (Sky: Children of the Light is my go-to). Its Zenless Zone Zero collaboration edition is visually striking—I’ve already snagged one for my collection.
